Rudy is still in the hospital. Of course, because of this, my physical pain has ramped up conSIDerably. And guess who has no pain medications? If you guessed I, you are correct. And this is good and bad. Bad, because my back is KILLING me with no relief in sight. And good because I have a STRONG addictive personality and I LOVE the sensations that drugs give me. To be fair, I like ALL warped distinctive feeling- the dizziness and feelings of a rolling floor are GREAT when I am dehydrated… so guess which stupid bitch deliberately goes through days of dehydration just to feel this way? If you said I, you are correct.

I can’t write any more. I just gopt back from seeing Rudy in the hospital and I’m crying too much.

I Have Been QUiet For A While

Last week was a horrible week for me, mentally and emotionally. I wasn’t able to provide Rudy with much comfort because he spent all his time and energy comforting me. Last Thursday was the worst when I spent three hours just bawling like a baby in his arms.

This week, of course, has been horrible because Rudy’s been in the hospital again. Everything seemed fine, actually, until they did a cardiac catheterization to check out his heart and arties. They look great. However, as soon as I finish this post I am leaving to go to him because they nicked a nerve in his leg while doing this and he is in terrible pain.

 It still never stops.

The Remix Master, DJ River

Another Internet Love Affair : )  I like music, although Rudy is not so big on it. He listens to soft rock radio stations, I listen to The Sex Pistols. One of my secret loves all my life has been electronic music, and as the genre has expanded, electronica and ambient and trance etc etc etc.

Of the various file downloads I have, one was a music file that was over an hour long. Never listened to it although it was titled something something ambient mix 5 something. The other day I happened to have foobar2000 running and it was running past one of my other new-fave groups (TRY^D) then it started playing something else that I listened to idly while doing other things. After 45 mins or so I started thinking that this was pretty good. Then I checked the name, and it was that file I had never listened to.

After another day of listening to that and liking it more and more, I finally noticed that there was a URL in the filename- www.djriver.com. So I went there. Available for free download are a TON of over-an-hour-long remixes and oh my gosh, he is GOOD.

He’s also a 27 year old guy from Sweden : )  He is amazing tho.

You should check it out if you like soothing and awesome music.

They Say “Moral Relativism” Like That’s A Bad Thing

Who are “They”? Well, I don’t know. More, I refer to this paper here on Moral and Epistemic Relativism. Actually, it’s about diversity and the Socratic method, but the first patagraph. is the one I am most interested in. He rapidly starts, because that is his point, into the Socratic method and such. And while I did read some of Plato’s Socrates Dialogues, that isn’t what I am trying to get into. I am less an Epistemic Relativist than I am a Moral Relativist.

And even at that I’m not relativist when it comes to certain things. Maybe what I am trying to say is that there is no such thing as truth and knowledge. That it’s all… relative.

I dunno.

Updated My Site Today!

I added a new short story to the front page. Not my usual style, sorta. WHile those of you out there that chat with me know that I can get VERY crude at times, my fiction tends to leave the rudeness to spots here and there. This story is pretty much crude : ) AND written from a guy’s POV so I hope I didn’t do it wrong : )

AND I added the first part of a 2 part story to the stories page- Bag O’ Snake. Soon to add the story that I had PREVIOUSLY on the first page : )

It Was Terrifying

Last Tuesday, House came on Fox TV like normal. Gotta watch House. He rules (and he’s sexy!). And then, during the credits, Rudy had a Crisis where blood and pus sprayed everywhere. Took an hour to get him cleaned up and bandaged and the blood out of the carpet and off the sofa. That wasn’t the scary part

 During the 2 hour time period I was gone, my internet connection went down!! ARGH! I called my ISP and asked what was up- they tried to talk me through steps I had already taken (powercycle the modem, etc etc etc), but I managed somehow to convince them I had done that. Since I had They then confirmed that yups, by gum and by golly, there was no signal coming out my way. So they said that someone would be out to fix things up sometime the next morning between 8 and noon! Needless to say, that wasn’t what I wanted to hear- some of my online friends had been  expecting me back obline and HOUR before I called my ISP!

Anyway, the next day they come out like 12 hours after I had called them (YARGH). It took them almost an hour, but they fixed the prob. Turns out they had made a network upgrade and hadn’t checked with “outlying customers” in apartment complexes to make sure the hardware on the outside of the complexes was up to snuff. So the guy had to fix the box, then I was ready again.

The sweet, sweet flow of information had returned.

Life Continues To Be Life

And thus born is my dismissive statement about horrible things that happen in my life, and others lives. “Life is life.” Which is also part of a song from the early 1980s, by a group I don’tknow the name of, but part of their chorus was “Live Is Life”. Which I thought was dumb and I could do better. Thus, “Life is life.”

 Actually, doing a REALLY SIMPLE Google search for “lyrics live is life” I find that the group’s name was Opus. Here’s a link to the lyrics page A Page Of Opus Lyrics.

 Someone wondered what “Bloviation” meant. This is a word that is actually self-deprecating. I’ll get the difinition for that too So here are the definitions of these two words.

 Bloviation: blo·vi·at·ed, blo·vi·at·ing, blo·vi·ates To discourse at length in a pompous or boastful manner: “the rural Babbitt who bloviates about ‘progress’ and ‘growth’” (George Rebeck). So basically I was calling my standard “I got nothun to say” posts are my just being pompous. And somewhat pedantic at times as well!

 Self-Deprecating: self-dep·re·cat·ing (slfdpr-ktng) adj. Tending to undervalue oneself and one’s abilities. It fits with my low self esteem. I am on 3 antidepressants, 1 of which is the new Cymbalta and they are GREAT- but that just makes you not depressed- doesn’t do anything about raising up the things that depression wore down.

 Pedantic: pe’dan’tic [puh-dan-tik] –adjective 

1.	ostentatious in one’s learning.

2.	overly concerned with minute details or formalisms, esp. in teaching.

 Ostentatious: (Suddenly my font and color changed and I’m too lazy to fix it!) os’ten’ta’tious –adjective

1.	characterized by or given to pretentious or conspicuous show in an attempt to impress others: an ostentatious dresser.

2.	(of actions, manner, qualities exhibited, etc.) intended to attract notice: Lady Bountiful’s ostentatious charity.

I’m not going toi worry about the font change. To hell with it. I’d have to play with the HTML because wordpress doesn’t have a simple “press button to change font and colors’ button. I got the italics turned off tho Another post will come later. Right now I am not awake yet.Anne

This Is My Very First WordPress Blog Entry

Hello and welcome, those of you who may have never read this blog before. And welcome back to all those who HAVE read this blog back at www.anne2snakie.blogspot.com. I sort of like the editing window provided by WordPress; yet, I cannot seem to find a “footers”-like template for automatic addition of text/links/images at the bottom of the post, such as I was at Blogger. Hmmm.

Anyways, I am learning WordPress, so stick with me! Thanks!
